Eleven Animal Equality activists have staged a protest in front of the Finnish Embassy in Madrid (Spain) against the fur industry, calling for the abolition of all fur farms and advocating animal rights. While holding placards showing images of the Finnish fur farms obtained during a recent investigation, the activists explained to the public why fur farming should be prohibited and in addition, all types of animal exploitation.

The activists rang the doorbell of the Embassy offices to deliver a letter with their demands to the Finnish Ambassador to Spain. The Embassy initially declined to receive the petition, however, after Animal Equality activists began to read the letter with a megaphone, the spokesperson appeared a few seconds later. After meeting the activists and listening to the petition, he stated that he would deliver the letter to the Ambassador in person.

During the protest at the Embassy entrance, members of the public, including some Finnish citizens, showed their support for the ban.

We at Animal Equality / Igualdad Animal reject the use of animals for fur in particular and clothing in general in the same way we reject their use for food, experiments or entertainment.
