LAHORE: Glucose and vitamins are being administered to birds and animals at the Lahore Zoo to save them from dehydration, while air coolers have also been installed in front of some cages. Lahore Zoological Gardens Director Muhammad Yousaf Pal told APP on Sunday that glucose was being administered to all birds through water, and vitamin capsules were being given to the animals through their feed. He said that 25 air coolers had been installed in front of the cages of tigers, leopards and other animals. Apart from this, 20 ice blocks of 100 kilogrammes each were being supplied daily to all enclosures to provide cold water to animals, he added. He said that eastern blinds (chiks) had been put up on cages to save the birds and animals from heat strokes, while veterinary doctor also examined the animals and birds twice a day. app
