Thirteen egg-laying hens have been freed from suffering and death this September by the Czech activist Michal Kolesar. The freed hens have been taken to a new safe home where they can run around on grass, feel the sun and stretch their wings.
Michal Kolesar is a Czech abolitionist activist who has carried out several open rescues, in addition to being involved in many other projects to promote veganism, and as a result has freed millions of animal slaves from human hands.
Open rescues consist of entering centres of animal exploitation with uncovered faces and documenting the conditions found inside, in addition to freeing a number of animals, in order to expose the truth to the public of how exploited animals live and die.
In general people who carry out open rescues also show the new lives of the rescued animals, helping society to understand the damage that is being caused and the reasons for which we need to respect other animals.
